Pentagram

Last night I visited Pentagram in West London. For those who dont know about Pentagram here's an excerpt from Wikipedia:

"Pentagram does work in graphic design, identity, architecture, interiors and products. They have designed packaging and products for many well known companies, such as Tesco, Boots, 3Com, Swatch, Tiffany & Co, Dell, Netgear, Nike and Timex. They have also developed identities for Citibank[1] and United Airlines, and in 2007 they updated the pop for Saks Fifth Avenue."

I went there to see/hear typographer Jonathan Hoefler from Hoefler & Frere-Jones. It was a really inspiring talk about what goes into designing type faces for different purposes such as Wall Street Journal where the font is used at such small sizes so each character includes ink traps so the type looks as good small as it does big.

The event was a members only event organised by The Typographic Circle. The next event will be with Bibliothèque in May which im looking forward to!
